£30.00 – £50.00

Working with children and young people can present moments that test our skills, particularly when it comes to responding to behaviour in ways that are effective, supportive, and trauma-informed. This training recognises that “challenging” behaviour is often a reflection of how we perceive and respond to it, and focuses on strengthening our professional capacity to engage constructively in these situations.

Participants will explore the underlying causes of behaviour, as well as strategies to de-escalate and respond in ways that promote safety, dignity, and relationship-building. Together, we will consider the psychological and environmental factors that influence behaviour, including trauma, unmet needs, and emotional regulation difficulties, while reflecting on our own responses and their impact.

Through interactive discussions and real-world scenarios, attendees will build confidence in applying behaviour response techniques that prioritise empathy, clear communication, and consistent boundaries. The session will equip participants to recognise their own role in shaping outcomes, helping to create environments where both practitioners and young people can thrive.
